Hello world!

This is my first time in the blogging world; this must be the feeling of a baby taking it’s first step!

I’m still trying to discover how I could possibly create a website for my new venture in the world of travel. I still live and work here in California, but my husband and I are planning to retire in the Philippines…ideally in 5 years, though, hopefully tomorrow in our wishful thinking.

We have a building in the Philippines that’s almost finished and is originally intended as one-bedroom apartments on the 2nd and 3rd floors; however, I would like to see the possibility of using a couple of units for travelers. I have also some rooms intended for student bed spacers that might be practical for backpackers on the budget.

Furthermore, I have families that could provide meal and transportation services which I could easily coordinate when needed. When we went home, we noticed a lot of Japanese and Koreans studying English in the Philippines.

My husband and I are educators…basically, this gave me the idea of finding even the possibility of combining not only business and pleasure but also including an English lesson in their schedule under one roof.

My husband has his website (www.xyllardrums.com) and we’re trying to build another one (www.niftyknacks.com) that I don’t want to start another one. Then I heard on the radio from ‘Leo, the tech guy’ about Word Press.com on starting a website, which I’m now trying to investigate its feasibility to market my idea.

Next time I would probably talk about our March 2006 family reunion in Subic Bay, Olongapo, Philippines. I never thought that we could manage such a feat of bringing together all 9 siblings (2 families from Canada and 3 from the U.S.) plus some uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Happy New Year to all your bloggers!
